Spectrum Aeronautical Expands European Activity

San Diego, California–May 2, 2006—— In line with its global vision
for the innovative all composite model 33 business jet, Spectrum
Aeronautical, LLC, headquartered in San Diego, California, is rapidly
expanding the activities of Spectrum Aviation Europe, SA, its Luxembourg
based subsidiary established in 2005.
Among a variety of other projects, Spectrum Aviation Europe (“SAE”) is
developing plans for a world-class Customer Support Center to provide a full
range of services for Spectrum 33 operators. Although details for the
facility are not yet ready to be made public, the company has discussions
currently underway with financial institutions and local authorities that
will assist in the effort.
“The new facility will provide a comprehensive sales and support base for
Spectrum’s European clients,” said Dr. Stefano Sturlese, Chief Executive
Officer for SAE. He added that “we will provide a comprehensive package that
encompasses leasing, financing, insurance and full after-market services.”
In addition to its European focus, Sturlese said “SAE will soon be
expanding its activities into Africa and the Middle East. We know the
aircraft is well suited for operations in these areas, and believe that it
will be well received. ”
Gian Paolo Borgna, SAE’s Chief Operating Officer, noted that “We are
already finding strong interest for the Spectrum 33 in Europe, especially by
prospective fleet operators. I’m sure part of the reason is that they fully
understand the economic advantages of the 33, and the value of our customer
support package. With its light weight, the operator’s fuel costs and other
expenses will be much lower than for other aircraft of its size.”
The Spectrum 33 is a new light business jet built using a revolutionary
graphite-epoxy construction process that gives it virtually the same size
cabin as popular eight to nine seat light business jets, at less than
two-thirds the weight. It’s designed to cruise at FL450 at speeds up to 768
km/h (415 knots/Mach 0.72) and fly as far as 3700 km (2000 nm) while using
about half the fuel of comparably sized current production aircraft.
FAA Type Certification of the Spectrum 33 is slated for 2007 or 2008,
with European certifications and customer deliveries to follow shortly
afterward.
